Aoa, I am a graduate from University of Malaya which is the 87th university in the world according to QS, other then that I also have a professional development certificate from London Business School, which is the 3rd best business school in the world after Stanford's Business School and MIT Sloan, now it's funny because most people sure know about London School of Economics and Imperial or Kings College London, some of them haven't even heard of UM or LBS, now they have a lot of reputation, and I am getting mixed answers everywhere whether it will be appropriate or viable enough to list the rankings or reputation of my educational training on my resume, any suggestions??
Please also state the reaon why do you think it's not incase of NO, many people said no onto me, yet they didn't realize of why they were saying that..

I think it all depends on you.
If you are proud of your university and your ranking, wear it with pride! If you are genuinely proud, you won't have to mask it with explanations and such to justify mentioning it even if asked during interview. Plus I also believe that mentioning such things sometimes leads to interviewers ask questions about it. That becomes a good chance to show that you are enthusiastic about hard work and wear your achievements with pride.

Please don't, and here's a simple reason why: nobody gives a shit what ranked university you graduated from.

  • What exactly is your hope? That you can influence a hiring manager based on the rank of your university? Your university is 87th ranked. You expect hiring managers to know the ins and outs of 87 universities all over the globe? That number doesn't mean shit.
  • Do you expect to get more pay based on that rank? Forget it. Never going to happen.
  • You know what would make your resume stand out? ACTUAL WORK THAT YOU HAVE DONE! I'm a hiring manager in my company. I would take a Iqra University graduate with solid experience or solid work done rather than a LUMS graduate who hasn't done crap but didn't forget to mention he went to the 'number 1 university in Pakistan'.

To respond to that guy above you. You telling the hiring manager about your university will somehow make you look like you're enthusiastic about hard work? What the actual fuck does that even mean? You know what would make the hiring manager think you're enthusiastic about hard work? ACTUALLY TELLING HIM WHAT HARD WORK YOU HAVE DONE PREVIOUSLY!!

I'm sorry for the harsh language, but I felt that a reality check was sorely needed.

Your opinion holds more weight than mine, since your a hiring manager and all, but what I said above was an OPINION based on my personal experience. Maybe my words didn't convey the meaning I had in mind but what I am trying to say is that I have always got a positive response in interviews whenever I mentioned that I graduated from one of the best universities of Pakistan.
I always wear this and my other academic achievements with pride. It takes very hard work to get into good universities and secure positions. I believe that a fresh graduate's best selling point is his academic achievement since he won't necessarily have the relevant job experience right out of the university.

By saying "shows enthusiasm for hard work" I meant that it shows that you know the importance of hard work and what benefits it brings. I have seen many people who just work like ants without any ambition or motivation (lacking enthusiasm) and find it hard to progress in their careers. I have always found that enthusiastic people have a target in their sights, an action plan and will to execute it. Academic achievements are a target when your a student and achieving these shows you were successful in your endeavours.

IMO the interviewer would know where you're from and judge from your skills. It would be pretentious IMO to actually go ahead putting the ranking on your resume.

I think it would be fine - maybe people would take it as you being pretentious but when I'm doing technical interviews, I don't get the time to research how good the candidates school is... and we do look down at people who are not from a good school - its an inherent bias and you can prove me wrong during the interview but if i had to pick between two freshies and had no other information, I would take a GIKI or NUCES grad over a LSE or PUCIT grad (for software positions)...

Since people aren't familiar with UM or LBS, putting their worldwide rating on your resume is better than not putting it up.

Online session is enabled for UBL. I have an active subscription with my NayaPay card (it is already added to Google Payment Methods).

did you try setting up Google Payments? For UBL you may have to get it enabled for internet transactions, Naya should work without it!

I tried both NayaPay, and UBL, but I keep getting "correct country selected..." error. I already have PK set there 🤦‍♂️

Did y'all see the new Assassin's Creed trailer? They finally made a AC set in Japan & then they put a negro as the male protagonist. Ubisoft is taking cues from Disney, and it isn't gonna end well for them, just like Disney. Go woke, go broke!

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.
