Universal Pictures sets the official release date for Fast & Furious 10, the first film in a two-part finale to the franchise's central story.

Universal Pictures has officially set the release date for Fast & Furious 10. The film will be the first in a two-part finale to the franchise's central story, which will come to an end following the release of Fast & Furious 11. The blockbuster action series first kicked off in 2001 with the premiere of The Fast and the Furious, starring Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and the late Paul Walker.

Starting as a one-off, gritty action film that sees an LAPD cop go undercover among a crew of street car racers, the Fast & Furious franchise has since grown into a major spectacle built on incredibly high-budget action sequences, insane stunts and international heists. The latest instalment, F9, even saw cars thrown into space in what proved to be one of the franchise's most unrealistic (and fan-loved) moments. Over the series, the films' star-studded casts have included Diesel, Rodriguez and Walker, with other major roles played by Dwayne Johnson, Charlize Theron, Sung Kang, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Helen Mirren and Gal Gadot. After more than 20 years, however, the original Fast & Furious saga will come to an end. The two final films are set to be directed by Justin Lin, who has served as director on several other Fast projects. Earlier this year, it was revealed that Lin would be shooting the two parts back-to-back to shorten the waiting period between their releases.

According to EW, part one of the finale, Fast & Furious 10, will be released on April 7, 2023. Major characters like Dominic Toretto (Diesel), Letty Ortiz (Rodriguez) and Han Lue (Kang) are expected to return for Fast 10. However, U.S. agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) will definitely not appear, as Johnson has already announced he will step out for the remaining films.

Given the previous announcement that Fast 10 and Fast 11 will be filmed back-to-back, it's possible that an April release date for Fast 10 could mean a same-year release for the final instalment. Regardless of when the finale does hit screens, however, it is expected to be a box office smash hit. After Furious 7 marked the first Fast project to gross a billion dollars worldwide, the films released after it made Fast & Furious one of the most successful franchises in history, earning over $6 billion globally.

No specific plot details have been revealed for either Fast 10 or 11, but Diesel has already teased that there are big plans in store for the films. And since F9 has already outdone the stunts of previous Fast films with an outer space scene and trucks thrown around by giant magnets, fans are expecting some extreme (and probably bizarre) action ahead of Fast 10's release. Given the franchise's history of shocking and delighting viewers with each new instalment, it is unlikely they will be disappointed.

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

MS one upping Sony in catching the biggest L in gaming
tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
