The Start screen is now where it's at, whether we like it or not. Windows 8 does include a few apps out of the box, and ones that have to be downloaded and installed but what we want to hear are great apps that you have discovered in the store, and why.​

Tunein Radio App .... Its already very famous on Android. And i find this very addicting. When you dont have anything to do. Listen to MustFM 103 (sm1) ... 5 Stars.

Photopbucket App ... Name explains it perfectly. The app is 99% flawless. Works very well for uploading photos in your account ... Another 5 Stars app.

Unit Conversion ... To convert units like kilometers to meters, KGs to Grams or vice versa. It has a beautiful "Meter" type of animations, looks cool. However, i would've enjoyed it more if they had made a "Swap" button for it .... 4 stars will justify it well.

Microsoft Solitaire Collection ...Anyone remember the Old solitaire games? Hearts, Free Cell etc. Well they have just got better, MUCH better actually. 3D Transitions are fascinating this time .... 5 Stars.

Engadget App ... Anyone who likes to read/watch/listen to Engadget, well this app is a MUST for him. You can not only read text, but can also watch videos. Its amazingly awesome ... 5 Stars.

GMaps ... Google Maps app. Not official though. Its not as good as Bing Maps app (already included in Win8), but it does the job well. However, 3 Stars would justify it well due to its crappy performance. I have no idea why Google itself is not making some quality apps.

Reddit to Go! ... Reddit fans would love this. It works good. 4 Stars.

Mentioning just the names are very easy. However, i would really like people to EXPLAIN their likeness for an app.
- If you find it useful, state it WHY.
- State your Ratings for an app, and Please DO use the Review & Feedback section of Microsoft's STORE. I am noticing that some of the apps have been recently updated, and i think its because of the Reviews people are giving in.

... If i find you posting Otherwise, i'll simply delete your post. Its not to have any at all, when its not gonna help somebody, fully.

preinstalled apps are nice too but sadly there are no games :D but its really good to see all the games are available in store. i have installed some games from store and like the way store offer apps/games. install paint 4 kids if you have any kid in your home its really a good app for kids

Skype (Metro) -- It keeps getting Better & better. As MS have purchased Skype, they planned to Integrate Windows Live Messenger in it. Well, THEY HAVE now.

We can't add new people through this metro skype.One has to download desktop skype to add someone.

You are mistaken. You CAN.

Metro Skype would be the Most Simple yet Most Funtional App you will ever find on Windows 8.

Right Click in an empty area > Top & bottom bars will be visible > Look at the Bottom Right corner ... to spot TWO options. "Add Contact" & "Save Number".

... can't get any easier than this ;)

Been digging the Store lately

The new Stumbleupon is beautiful. Have to say, for all cross-platform apps the Windows Store versions are so much better looking than the iOS or Android counterparts. Now just needs some bug fixes and adding in missing feature, which is only a matter of time.

The TrackSeries app is beautiful! It is a bit sluggish on my Surface RT though. Becomes unresponsive for a few seconds after I open a new page or open an episode. Anyone else having this issue?

For those who needs a simple password manager.

It provides widgets on the lock screen. As of now, only a sticky note can be placed. Note that you have to choose a lock screen picture first before you can use the widget.
This does not work with Chameleon so the rotating lock screen pictures will be disabled when this app is active.


Personally, I prefer to-dos because I rarely spend time on the lock screen.

    Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

    tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
