Your should definitely make one. Your hotmail account will actually be a "Microsoft" account which could be used to all of their services. You can even Link/Merge your Skype account with Microsoft account because Skype is owned by Microsoft.

Would you use a Google Android without a Google account ? Well, Think of Microsoft following similar strategy.

Wanted to see if it can work here in Pakistan for Windows Phone Store. Can be used for Windows 8 store too. I did manage to get a $15 from abroad and it seems to be working.

The regional stores for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 are terrible. You wont find majority of the new apps or games. It's either US, UK or Australia you'll need.

OKAY GEAR UP PEOPLE​

Some new and very useful apps have been released in Windows Store. Here goes the list.


1. FACEBOOK App

Link: Facebook app for Windows in the Windows Store

Personally, i don't quite like the app because eventhough it supports Push Notifications, the "apps' experience" itself remains bland and mediocre. And it feels like a web version. People with SSDs might be able to enjoy it more because of 'quicker' and 'fluid' experience.


2. Chat ON (Samsung)

Link: ChatON app for Windows in the Windows Store

Needs no introduction. Samsung Galaxy users use this often (atleast those who give a sh*t)


3. LINE

Link: LINE app for Windows in the Windows Store

We all know of LINE on our Android phones.


4. TAPATALK (official)

Link: Tapatalk app for Windows in the Windows Store

Needs No Introduction. Probably one the best releases for Windows 8 based PCs and so far my personal favorite. The best part, Supports Push Notifications, which will come VERY VERY handy to those regularly visit different forums.


5. MINT.com

Link: Mint.com Personal Finance app for Windows in the Windows Store

Those of you looking to manage their 'finances'. I haven't tried this app because it needs an account, and i am not in the mood of making one. So if any of you does try this app, please do state your review.


6. DAILYMOTION (Official App)

Link: Dailymotion app for Windows in the Windows Store

Again, haven't tried it. Don't need to.


7. VIBER

Link: Viber - Free Phone Calls & Text app for Windows in the Windows Store

Again, needs no intro. Works well. Though they could improve its (horrible) performance. We can't even properly click the buttons.

Is it possible to use a microsoft account for MS Store but keep on using a local account for windows login?
I'm asking cause for local logins I want the password to be simpler (1-3 digits) but MS has some pretty complicated conditions for the MS password.

Why not just create PIN (4 digit code) for login? OR use picture password or use finger print if laptop. Its very simple, goto PC settings, Account settings Sign-in options.

[MENTION=25535]frazgta[/MENTION]! If you are using a Local Account, then you can Log In to Windows' Modern Apps (Mail, People, Store etc) with your Microsoft Account independently. Meaning, your Windows doesn't have to be running on a Microsoft Account (instead of Local). (However it'll be more convenient because of Cloud Save feature where Windows saves your essential settings online, making it available to Sync next time you install a fresh windows, or on another PC).

Whenever you open-up Store ... you will be asked to Use your Microsoft Account with Windows. Thats just a trick by Microsoft where they are hiding the bypass. Whenever this screen pops up ....

.... Just click on the "Sign into each app separately (Not Recommended)".
