A Confusing fact about Battlefield3 PC...

hi guys. last nite i gave a shot to PC Ver of BF3, although i have completed it on Xbox360. During Game i noticed that Game is running in DX11 Mode not DX10 (As i have HD4850).

my pc
Corei3 540 @ 4.02Ghz
P7H55-V
5GB RAM
HD4850 512MB DDR3 @ 700/1075

chk the OSD on top left corner in game screens. why game is running in DX11 Mode, it shud run in Dx10 as my gpu is dx10 not dx11 based. visuals are set to Ultra + high settings @ 1027x768 Resolution due to HD4850

Win7 uses Dx11, any games you run will use Dx11. However only the features available in Dx10 will be running, with advanced features disabled. For example, you wont see any tesselation.

^ if i consider your answer to be rite.... then why crysis2 patched with dx11 isnt running on dx11. crysis2 runs on dx9 when i use hd4850.

o bhai.. i also have 4850 and it not a DX 11 card .. so what ever it is written dx 11 is not working .. and i think crysis 2 is not on DX 10 .. it is initially on DX 9 and then for DX 11 .. :D

^ Bro give it a try to BF3 on Win7 with MSI afterburner OSD. see what Mode its returning.... ho sakta hai k win7 ka usual behavior ho.

The Frostbite 2 engine runs on DX11, which is the reason you cant run it on WinXP. CryEngine3 is based on DX9, but can utilise dx11 features. You have to enable Dx11 features in Crysis2 for the deferred shading and all the rest of it kick in.
