Hi can anybody tell me the eligibility criteria for articleship in big4 ?
Usually they require CAF (CA inter) qualified candidates or candidates with atleast 5 papers of CAF passed along with AFC. Preference is given to recent FTS but if you are from eligible FTS, you will be given an equal opportunity.

I am a final year student at IBA in the Bs(Accounting and Finance) program. I will be eligible for the SDAI exemptions for CA and will have to complete my articleship for three years. Now, when it comes to articleship, there are two options:
1) Audit Firm
2) Training Organisations outside Practice (TOoP) aka ‘Industry’

I want to know the potential downsides to working at a regular company (industry) instead of an audit firm for my articleship. Will it hurt future job/promotion prospects?

I have heard that industry pays better and working hours are normal office hours rather than the extreme timings at audit firms. Note that even firms pay IBA grads double of what they pay regular CAs/ACCAs.

However, everyone I talk to about this issue just tells me one thing: “with an audit firm, you’ll have the experience of multiple companies, but with a company, you’ll have the experience of just one”. At the end, if I pass all my exams and complete the articleship, I get a CA qualification in both cases, so is it any different to employers? Will my IBA degree make any difference? Because right after graduation, IBA people generally get better salaries than those of other universities.

Need some more help with this. Thanks.

If you are planning to settle abroad, audit firms specially the big 4 provide you with an excellent opportunity. If you don't have any such plan, then select an industry where you want to advance like Banks, manufacturing etc. as no one can be a master of all industries. Although the CA syllabus is designed in such a way that you can work in any organization still a Bank won't hire anyone who doesn't have banking audit experience. Same goes with manufacturing and other industries.

Another advantage of audit firms is that you get a taste of various industries that can help you in deciding which industry to advance your career in. But again lets suppose you have always dreamt to be a Banking auditor in Pakistan, then banks like HBL will be most suitable for you.

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
