IBA vs FAST vs Others for CS.

mine is at 10:00 and there are no group discussions for bscs students and i have heard they ask u to solve a mathematical question!!..now i have absolutely no idea about fsc maths and i can't do a single thing without calculator!!..=//..(AlevelsStudent)...Help

Do you know how to program? My plan is to steer them towards programming so they attack me questions related to it, because I can answer them. Same thing happened at SZABIST: All of my friends were asked to solve a simple mathematical question or deduce a really simple concept, but I wasn't since they asked me programming stuff. Don't worry though, they won't give you anything that cannot be solved without a calculator, and most of the times, you don't even have to arrive at a solution. Just tell them how can you solve the given problem and you are good.

My friend at IBA was asked to solve simultaneous equations and find out the point of intersection, and he was given only one equation of line. Now you have studied your topics right, you should know that for a point of interception, you will need two lines, since one cannot intercept. And that is exactly what he said. My friend at SZABIST was asked to find out the perimeter of an triangle, and he was given really weird values (square rooted and such). All he said that if you add all these values together, you will get the perimeter. So that's how it goes. I was asked programming questions, because I claimed I know how to program, so they had to assess.

Is there any way I can recognize you? If so, I will tell you what did they ask me.

Well I didn't find you. I was like the 3rd or 4th person they called so I left very early. Anyway, how'd your interview go? Mine went as good as could have. What did they ask you?

asked why bscs
asked my favourite subject=maths(worst answer ever)...asked me about Am Gm nd Hm itold them i knew about Ap Gp only..asked me about probability
asked me about extra curricular activites

i think my interview cudve been way better!?,..beacuse out of the four question they asked i ageb 3 answers right
and then asked what if we dont take u
hVe u applied anywhere else??
that was it they said thank you(didnt say welcome to iba)
so i think there is almost no chance of me making it in iba!!..=(...test marks were not good also i only got 180!!..=//..Inshallah i hope k hojai!!..=D

They will not say "welcome to IBA" because the results are announced later. If they were to say that, they would have had to say it to every single applicant, which makes the announcement of final result pointless. And stop being such a little emo girl. If you are in the list, you are a worthy candidate. All that matters is that you answered confidently. My interviewers were cheerful guys, so I had a good time joking and laughing and shit. They asked me same questions and a couple programming related questions as well. All and all, it went good.

Also, you and I are most definitely in. Mubarak.

KU campus is way better than saddar one!!..its really spacious and phr yahan k labs waghera naye hai!!..

Yes, they teach CS at the KU (main) campus. Hotels are also there, and I don't know anything about the hostel life.

Have to decide between IBA and FAST Lahore campus for CS by tonight. Can't decide.

IBA has a better campus, people, and I would get the exposure(Dorm life) that one needs to get during their university years. Other than that, I even liked the courses they are offering more than the fixed courses at FAST with a few electives.

But with Fast on the other hand, its a better degree. IBA's CS degree is not all that heard of and there's job security with a FAST degree.

My plans are to graduate and then go abroad for my masters and stay there.


ANY last minute advice?
