then there will be some problem with that server or maybe your ptcl line is faulty,try playing on other servers and check latency

On which servers were you playing? And which internet do you have right now? PTCL, LDN, WiTribe etc?

What's the exact problem? Describe it.
Which server have you tried? and And what's the cs version you'r using?

I once faced a similar problem, switching to v32 did the job. I can PM you the torrent link if you want.
Maybe, it's the sxe issue.

Hey the instructions you posted in the first post for CS 1.6 Dedicated Server. This will be for Non steam cs na? Means user with non steam cs will be able to join it. I just want to play with my friends.

Great then install cs , take ip from the thread here dreamnet one and enjoy ,,, and please dont forget to install sxe intected 11.8 (i guess) .

why am i getting the error 'could not contact master server to retrieve game list'? before answering please dont tell me to turn my firewall off or to add hl.exe as an exception or ask whether i use router or cable. beacuse i use cable AND i have tried the above mentioned. please help me. i wanna play online too.

Hmm master server problem. I'm going to guess that you're planning to host your own server (?).
In case you're not then, master server has nothing to do with clients it's a server side parameter.

Sadly there aren't any pk servers for Counter Strike Source.
It's only that those who wana play it, that group of friends make their own server and play when they get all together.

Here's the solution:

• Go to this site http://css.setti.info/code/masterserver/
• Save that file "MasterServers.vdf" where ever you want
• After you have saved it, copy and paste to this directory "Counter Strike 1.6/cstrike/platform/config"
