A video has been added to first post showing the new Start Menu, plus it confirms that it is optional, so i can continue using the Modern Start Menu! ^_^

Almost all the listed changes have been confirmed by the leaks except Cortana, it is no where to be seen! :ninja:

Why can't there be an option to completely cut that metro crap from the desktop. Seriously microsoft? How hard can it be to just let the users customize their desktop the way they want :fp1:

France President Alain Crozier accidentally revealed that Windows 9 will be launched next week. The software giant is now trying to cover that up a bit by clarifying that Crozier was referencing to next week's event that will show the future of Windows and that there is no such thing as Windows 9, of course.
lain Crozier, the President of Microsoft France, today became the first executive in the company to use the term "Windows 9" publicly to describe the next version of Windows.
Crozier made the statement as part of a company press event today that was live-streamed and is now available to watch on the Microsoft France website. During his presentation, he said, "Last year we had Windows 8. In the next few minutes, the next few days, we'll be releasing Windows 9." Crozier is likely referring to the press event scheduled to be held September 30, a week from today, in San Francisco, where the company is supposed to offer the first details on the next version of Windows and how it will help its enterprise customers.

Microsoft announced Windows 10 - Old Start Button is back.

Dont know I'm posting in the right section or otherwise. Even don't know if someone has already posted a similar thread. If so, Team PG is at liberty to take its decision and move, delete or merge this thread whatever they deem suitable.

So, after unpopular Windows 8, Microsoft has decided to introduce Windows 10. Most of the users have been expecting next Microsoft OS to be called Windows 9 or Windows 8.2, but the company surprised by revealing Windows 10.

Terry Myerson, Microsoft's head of operating systems, at an event in San Francisco said Windows 10 will be their greatest enterprise platform ever. Windows 10 adapts to the devices customers are using, from Xbox to PCs and phones to tablets and tiny gadgets, he added.

An early version of the software, demonstrated yesterday by the Microsoft shows two modes, one optimized for touch-controlled tablets, and one for PCs using a mouse and keyboard. Users can switch between the two depending on the device.

The official release of the product is expected by mid of 2015. The Windows 8 licensed users will have a free upgrade to the new version. Hope the new windows will bring many positive changes and ease of use for general users.

Nah I'll wait for the final version to release. Perfectly content with Windows 8.1 right now. By the way, will Microsoft be dumping Win 8 after releasing its successor?

Announcing Windows 10

This means Microsoft is phasing out Windows Phone. The next OS is touted to be compatible with both x86 and ARM architectures and hence, can run across a variety of devices.

Snap enhancement is a feature I encountered in Ubuntu. Never found a proper utility for it but I'm sure it is useful. Windowed-mode for apps is a nice addition as well.

    did you try setting up Google Payments? For UBL you may have to get it enabled for internet transactions, Naya should work without it!
